Communion of the body of christ

1Cor 10:16 says "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?"

Communion G2842 (Thayer's Greek Lexicon)
κοινωνία, κοινωνίας, ἡ (κοινωνός), fellowship, association, community, communion, joint participation, contact; in the N. T. as in classical Greek

The root word strongs number G2839
Meaning Common i.e what is common to all.

Q. In whom is our primary communion ? 1John1:3-4 we read “that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”

A. Our fellowship is with The Father and The Son

 Eph 4

What about the Holy Spirit?
Paul writes in in 2Cor 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Rom 8:8-9 says "So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His."

For us to be in fellowship we must have repented, believe and been baptized,  born of God, been made sons of God,(Rom 8) New creation (2Cor 5:17)

Reading 1Cor 10:16 again replacing the word communion with fellowship

It is not possible to seperate subjects when looking at the body of Christ. The subjects would have to include the temple, the bride, the Holy Spirit and the work of , baptism, passover the Lords supper and the breaking of bread. I may include some references to all of these but the first point I should focus upon is how do we become part of the body?
1Cor 12:13 says “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.”

Who can fellowship?

Just a thought regarding church fellowship. The evidence of scripture as to why we should meet I understand to be for edification, breaking bread to remember of the Lords death and his coming again, to sing hymns psalm and spiritual song to one another making melody to the Lord in our hearts and to minister one to another in a participatory way with the gifts of the spirit.
In light of the above Paul makes a hypothetical point about prophesying in connection with what happens if a stranger walks in 1Cor14:24-25  But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all.And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.
I believe Paul is making a hypothetical point about the stranger coming in not as though this was to be expected as the norm.
My point and main concern is that for too long the church has had an open door policy, inviting the world into fellowship, but I believe scripture knows non of it. Jesus taught we are to go into all the world and God adds to the church those being saved.
Church fellowship (koinania) is for believers only, the warning given in Ezek44:6-10 about Israels conduct in the temple should be heeded.
We are not to yoke ourselves with unbelievers. What fellowship has light with darkness? Scripture teaches us that believers have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness and transformed into the kingdom of the son of His love. (the light of the world) We are sons of light. So how can we fellowship (koinania) with the unsaved? How can light fellowship with darkness ? We can't can we?
We can tell the world to repent and believe on Him who died for sinners but we cant fellowship with them until God adds them to us who are the body.
Remember who our fellowship is with.
1John1:3-4 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

What do we do when we fellowship?
